The advances in technology is something that generates great curiosity in us, so we try to keep up to date to adapt and use these new gadgets to make more comfortable, efficient and practical some processes that are tedious, monotonous and easily forgotten. That’s why we think that using an antenna, a chip, a sensor is a good idea to control the opening of an auxiliary door.

We are very concerned about the quality of life and animal welfare of our pets, this is one of our maxims. In virtue of which we believe a healthy animal, is a balanced animal, exercised, properly stimulated at the level of mental challenges and for that we designed our next device associated with the Mr Polite Pet collar. 

It is an automated door so the animals can enter or leave the yard without the participation of a human, with security guarantees and adaptable to many types of doors or windows. It is a solid door, made of aluminum, with swinging movement and a telescopic arm which opens and closes it when it detects the signal coming from the associated collar through the app. We have arranged an anti-catch sensor, a camera connected to the app and power supply. Depending on the needs, the door can be sized for a cat or a mastiff to pass through. The installation of the door is designed to ensure that the security of the home is not compromised. It is possible to see in real time the images of the camera included in the system, to corroborate its good operation.

The approach that led us to develop this device is simple, let’s imagine the following situation. 

We live in a typical average American house, with a backyard, and with two side aisles limited by wooden fences between 1.8 and 2 meters high. The aisles are lightly traveled because they have the air conditioning system and garbage cans.

– Our dog lives indoors but goes to the bathroom in the backyard.

– The food and water bowl are outside in the backyard.

– Part of the physical activity and play is in the backyard with his balls and toys.

– Every time the animal needs or wants to go out, we have to open the door and wait to close it or      come back when he wants to go in, because it is not viable to leave the door open due to energy efficiency of heating or air conditioning, insects, waiting time, etc.

This situation has been experienced by all pet owners, we only need to include the conditions of our homes, to recreate a story well known by each of us. When in situations like the one described above, there is no human available to open the door and allow the animal to develop its life as it does on a daily basis, some events tend to happen that will complicate the coexistence with the animal, such as:

1. Urinating or defecating inside the house, in view of the impossibility of going out.

2. Constant or compulsive barking, to call attention to their needs.

3. Destructive behaviours due to the animal’s boredom.

4. Sadness and separation anxiety when left alone at home.

5. Veterinary problems associated with dehydration.
